Located at Gran Tokyo South Tower in Tokyo Station, this expansion signifies ENGIE’s strong commitment and global mission to drive sustainable energy solutions worldwide.
Empowering Decarbonization
ENGIE Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) has been actively engaged in providing energy supply solutions and risk management services to support clients on their decarbonization journey. This Tokyo office launch marks a significant milestone as GEMS expands its presence to include physical power trading in Japan under the name “ENGIE Energy Marketing Japan KK” (EEMJ). The Tokyo office will house a dedicated team of professionals ready to offer tailor-made energy solutions, optimize ENGIE’s assets, and contribute to the country’s ambitious decarbonization goals.
Fostering Synergy in the APAC Region
The expansion into Tokyo not only strengthens ENGIE’s presence in Japan but also bolsters its position in the broader Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. The Tokyo office will be actively involved in power trading, financial derivatives, and renewable energy initiatives. Japan’s unique energy landscape, with its physical LNG and biomass supply, aligns seamlessly with ENGIE’s vision for a sustainable energy future.
Moreover, ENGIE’s joint venture with EDP Renewables, Ocean Winds (OW), is actively contributing to Japan’s renewable energy landscape. Together with five leading companies, OW Japan has formed the Japan’s Floating Offshore Group, with the ambitious goal of contributing to Japan’s decarbonization by 2050 through offshore wind power production.
