Gaznat and ENGIE have worked together since the 1970s on a number of agreements addressing various stages of the gas value chain, and their joint efforts have contributed to the development of both French and Swiss gas infrastructure as well as gas delivery on either side of the border. Over the last 12 months, ENGIE delivered more than 3 TWh to Gaznat, in a context of increasing gas demand.
The energy mix of tomorrow is a significant concern for Swiss citizens, who voted on May 21st, 2017 in favor of a 2050 Energy Plan, opening up further opportunities for renewables. This supply agreement not only reinforces bonds between the gas industries of both countries but also illustrates, at a European scale, that natural gas and renewables are perfect partners.
