Whether you decide to go for a one-time purchase or to enter into a medium to long-term future supply, energy attribute certificates certify that your consumption volumes have been generated from a renewable source.
This is one of the first and easiest steps in the decarbonization of your site(s). At ENGIE, you can purchase your certificates in different ways: you can enter into a PPA or a full supply contract. You can also buy standalone Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs) (not linked to a PPA or supply contract).
You can decide whether you want certificates directly linked to the volumes generated by an asset (as-produced), determine volume according to your consumption profile (as-consumed) and determine the maturity of your contract, from 1 to 10 years ahead.
By adding specificities to your purchase, such as the location, a specific technology or a specific asset, you can increase the impact of your decarbonization.
If you are a company with multi-location sites, we can supply certificates for each of your sites, wherever you are located in Europe, APAC or in the US. Depending on where you are operating your businesses, these attributes can be GOs, REGOs, RECs or I-RECs.
Today at ENGIE, we are also growing our portfolio of Responsibly Sourced Gas (RSG) certificates and renewable gas certificates of origin, thus fostering the development of low-carbon gas markets.
With energy attributes, not only you guarantee the origin of your energy sourcing, you also contribute to the decarbonization of energy markets – directly acting for a sustainable world.

Global leader in glass manufacturing O-I has pledged to reduce O-I’s global greenhouse gas emissions by 25% by 2030. As such, O-I seeks reliable partners for the decarbonization of its businesses.
O-I has industrial sites across Europe and has been looking for a large amount of guaranteed renewable supply covering its overall consumption through a single, flexible and competitive contract.
Thanks to a large and diverse portfolio of carbon-neutral products, ENGIE was able to design a 10-year renewable supply offer for all O-I sites in Europe, equivalent to 4.3TWh in total with associated certificates guaranteeing a sourcing from solar, wind and hydro energies.
With this offer, O-I makes the most of ENGIE’s ability to design pan-European solutions with guarantees of decarbonization set on a tenure very few can meet today.
Battery Storage is a game changer for the energy transition. Thanks to their buffer function, batteries stabilize the power grid and make the fluctuating power generation from renewable energies usable for a continuous energy supply.
If your business requires a significant amount of energy for its operations, the use of onsite batteries can be a true differentiator: by storing and discharging power according to your consumption profile and to the energy grid capacity, you can absorb your peak loads and reduce your grid related costs – therefore saving money. And you benefit from a baseload volume of green energy, therefore also decarbonizing your electricity – intermittency free.
More, you can also benefit from our optimization services to extract value from your stored energy on ancillary services markets.
At ENGIE, we leverage our long-standing asset management expertise to support your innovative projects and market your energy storage for maximum revenue.
Trust us with the management of your battery storage and benefit from:
In markets with capacity mechanism you can take advantage of your available capacity while we take care of the registration and administration to receive certificates. Thanks to our experience in structuring, you can lay back while we extract option value from long-term markets.

A self-developed software is used, via ENGIE.
Wind to Gas Energy GmbH & Co. KG (W2G) is one of the pioneers of wind energy utilization in Schleswig-Holstein. With the aim of storing renewable energies and transforming them into other usable forms of energy, W2G in Brunsbüttel has, among other things, set up a lithium-ion battery storage for the provision of primary balancing power. ENGIE markets the battery for W2G in the energy services, including charge management and protection. ENGIE also forecasts peak grid load to generate additional revenue in avoided grid usage. In combination with ENGIE’s hydroelectric power plant, the customer storage facility was able to be prequalified with a higher output, thus optimizing the revenues.
If you want to secure revenues directly on the market, you are at the right place. Direct sales of renewable assets on wholesale market require real-time management of the energy market. Find the support and the guaranteed income you need in our wide range of services.
We take care of assets under subsidy mechanisms which are country-specific, contracts for difference, capacity remuneration mechanisms, etc. as well as assets out of subsidy, the former of these through regulated returns and the latter through remuneration schemes based on fixed or floating prices.
Our renewable asset management solutions empower you to take full advantage of your green assets. Secure your revenues (production and certificates) on the contract duration of your choice. We take care of the certification and valorization of your assets. Depending on the risk mix you want to bear, we offer different types of PPA structures (fixed price, indexed price, cap and floor…).
